Sometimes, there comes a point where things no longer feel quite right. You may have spent years caring for others, keeping things going, and putting your own needs to one side. Life may have shifted, and with a growing sense of disconnection, you feel that you want something more, even if you cannot fully name it yet.

I support women who want to slow down, find space of their own, and begin to feel more like themselves again. Through art, visualisation and nature, I offer a gentle, creative way to reconnect with what matters to you, to notice what you need, and to find a little more calm, meaning and self-understanding.

I offer two ways of working

AdobeStock_439093236.jpeg

It is a gentle, nature-connected creative experience. You do not need to be good at art. You do not need lots of materials. You do not need to have the right words. The focus is on process, reflection, symbolism and what unfolds when you are given enough comfort, spaciousness and support.

My work is centred around helping women slow down enough to hear themselves again.

The relaxation and visualisations help to soothe your nervous system and soften the constant movement of thoughts. The art-making offers a way to explore what you find without needing to explain everything in words. Often, what has felt unclear or out of reach begins to take shape. Over time, many women feel calmer, more grounded, more connected to themselves, and more able to trust their own needs.

What I offer is not an art class

Hi, I'm Sarah

I’ve been a registered art therapist for 15 years. My path to this work began when I became housebound with chronic illness at the age of 26. During those years, I began sketching myself in everyday life, using relaxation techniques and visualisations, and finding small but meaningful ways to reconnect with nature. Those experiences shaped the work I offer now. I went on to complete an MA in Art Psychotherapy, worked for 10 years in schools, and later began facilitating experiential creative training groups for mental health professionals. It was through this work that I developed The Soothing Season.

I now live in the North York Moors, with wild nature on my doorstep, and continue to make art, use visualisations, and stay closely connected to the natural world and seasonal rhythms. The workshops I offer bring together three elements that have been deeply important in my own life: art, visualisation and nature.

There is space to slow down, be present, and come back to yourself.

Feedback from our creative workshop participants

A wonderful , friendly, and heart-warming session.I feel so blessed to be able to share a simple drawing and discuss it, and to see the beautiful images that other people create.
